List Of The Best Natural Protein Powders!

natural pro complexOver the past few weeks I’ve been contacted by people wanting to know what natural protein powders are, and what are the best ones available right now. So I thought this was a good time to bring this up on Supplements Explained. First, we need to define what is a “natural protein powder”…

(Or just straight to the winner: Natural Pro Complex)

What Makes “Natural Protein Powder” Natural?

Put it simply, a natural protein powder is one that is not flavored or colored with anything artificial. You might be thinking, well if you can flavor protein powders with natural ingredients then why use artificial flavorings? Well, because the only real natural substance protein supplement companies can use is sugar. So you will find that natural protein powders have a higher sugar content than their artificial counterparts.

Increased sugar, no way! That’s what I initially thought too. But when comparing protein powders I looked at the sugar content per serve and most only contain a few grams of extra sugar. That’s not much, considering 1 teaspoon of sugar is 5 grams and a regular soft drink can have up to 20 teaspoons fo sugar!

So overall, natural protein powders are a great move! You can do away with the artifical flavorings without sacrificing on calories and or nutritional value. So let’s get to the list, here are my top natural protein powders:

Top 7 Natural Protein Powders:

  1. Natural Pro Complex
Awesome protein blend from ON that’s available in natural and regular.
  2. Natural Elite Whey
Great tasting, mixes easily and of course all natural.
  3. Natural 100% Whey Gold Standard
ON’s best selling whey, but natural. Limited flavors available.
  4. Natural Oats & Whey
This is the best natural meal replacement, hands down. ON’s whey + oats.
  5. Natural Isopure
A bit prices compared with the others, but it’s pure WPI when the others are blends.
  6. Syntrax Nectar Naturals
Another pure WPI, that’s tastes absolutely delicious. Fruity flavors available.
  7. Natural Casein Gold Standard
Slow digesting natural casein. Tastes just the same as the artificial flavored one. $1 extra in price.

Notice something there? A lot of Optimum Nutrition products in that list. That’s because ON has really seemed to jump on the natural bandwagon and have released a whole line of natural products. From what I hear, other brands will be following. But it’s hard to beat Optimum in value for money and price. Some companies chose to increase the price for natural products, ON did not, that’s why they’re on the list.

If you have tried any of these powders, leave your reviews at the bottom of this page! You can also leave any questions and I’ll try to get to them as soon as possible.
