Bodybuilding Supplements to Increase Mass

Bodybuilding and building muscle demands more than just throwing some heavy weights around.  To reach the best results possible, you need to be constantly aware of your body’s nutritional needs.

Your well-rounded diet should fuel your body with plenty of protein and complex carbs.  Why are these important?  Well, protein is the building block essential to all muscle tissue in your body.  Protein is in charge of repairing muscle damage — when you workout, you tear the muscle, and when it is repaired, it grows larger.  Some food with high quantities of protein are milk and eggs.

Complex carbohydrates are good for you because they burn slowly while releasing energy — boosting stamina.  Many athletes will eat a big bowl of speghetti or pasta right before game for this reason.  Complex carbs also keep your blood sugar levels stable when you’re pumping iron.

Complex carbohydrates are essential for stamina; they are slow burning and provide lasting energy. They also keep blood sugar levels stable while you are working out. Brown rice, fresh fruits, and sweet potatoes are a few examples of foods that are considered complex carbs.

Ideally, we’d all love to get all of our body’s required vitamins and minerals from our diet.  However, for people who have work, children, school, or just flat out don’t have enough time to prepare well-balanced meals all day, supplements are needed.  Supplements help our bodies receive all the nutrients food supply us with.

Are you trying to increase mass with bodybuilding supplements?  Not sure of what to take?  Consider the following supplements.

Omega-3 fatty acids - Reduces insulin resistance in your body, encourages overall healthy growth.  This is derived from fish oil — products like Optimum Nutrition Fish Oil.

Creatine
- Believed to drastically increase muscle mass in bodybuilders.

Protein - We talked about the many recovery benefits of protein above.  Unfortunately, it’s hard to obtain all the protein your body requires from food alone — that’s why we have supplements.  Consider taking 100% Whey Gold Standard from Optimum Nutrition to receive all the protein that your body isn’t getting from your diet.

Do you think you could lead me to a section (if it exists yet) where you post a sample diet and sample supplement schedule. I have looked at your top 7 supplements and I want to incorporate this into a diet and exercise plan. It would be helpful if all of this, including the timing and amount of supplements. I know that this will vary from person to person and strength levels, but could be helpful to those of us newer to taking supplements. Overall, I love the website and there is a lot of helpful info here! Keep up the good work.

    Thanks, Eric
